Carter Towler York benefits from buoyant commercial property market

Our York office is continuing to be extremely busy across all aspects of its business. It has successfully concluded 7 significant lettings since June and is on target to achieve over £9,500,000 in commercial property sales.

“The property market in and around the city of York has continued to remain resilient,” commented Miles Lawrence, “and I’m very pleased to see that we are right in the midst of it all. Not just with assisting clients with lettings, sales and acquisitions but with development advice and professional lease advisory work too.

“York’s engineering, digital and professional services sectors are all growing and creating lots of high-quality employment opportunities. We are seeing a lot of interest from investors and businesses looking to expand and are hopeful that this positivity will continue.”

Miles and his team have just concluded the sale and leaseback of units 5, 6 and 7 at Opus Avenue and 4 Tudor Court, York Business Park on behalf of PPL Training Ltd to Rougemont Estates. The combined value of the deals is £2,320,000. In addition, the company has negotiated the sale of Unit 12 Shires Bridge Business Park to Mayne Group for £235,000. Just a couple of months ago Miles’ team negotiated the letting of Unit 23 at the business park to ADS Electrical.

In another recent transaction, 8,300 sq ft Unit 1 Adventure House, Station Approach, Shipton by Beningbrough has been let to The Event World Limited and on behalf of Rushbond Plc, Carter Towler has let the last remaining office space at 10 Toft Green to John Sisk & Sons. The construction company is currently undertaking a £100m infrastructure scheme in the centre of the city.

And finally, acting for GEM Holdings (York) Limited, a warehouse and trade counter letting has been completed with House of Piccadilly Limited. The luxury bathroom company has taken the 6,543 sq ft unit at James Nicholson Link, Clifton Moor as part of its expansion plans.

Matt Faulkes added: "The commercial property market in North Yorkshire is thriving, presenting numerous opportunities for businesses to grow and succeed. Our presence here not only enhances our visibility and accessibility to clients but also fosters stronger relationships with key stakeholders in the region.

“The York office complements our Leeds city centre head office perfectly. This dual presence enhances our operational flexibility and strengthens our market position, ensuring that we can meet the diverse needs of our clients across the whole of the region and beyond. By capitalising on the economic vitality of both York and Leeds, we are well-placed to drive our business forward and achieve sustained growth."
